Pet Pix and Story Contest in Overdrive

We have been planning a special pet photo contest for the coming month.  Doing our homework and gathering grand prizes for this event to help a number of pet charities has been a fun challenge.

While checking out other pet photo contests on the web I came across a doozy. In the “Can You Top This?” corner there is now a colosal pet lover essay contest (that includes a pet photo) that started in early April. The grand prize is a 1.25 million-dollar mansion in Ocala FL, owned by author Clementina Marie Giovannetti who is running this contest. Her goal is to publish a book of pet lover stories complete with photos…

Giovannetti’s love of dogs inspired the Best ‘Pet Lover Story’ Essay Contest and Caesar, the dog Giovannetti adopted from a local Golden Retriever Rescue Group, is actually the star of an upcoming new book titled Caesar: the Greatest Love Story Ever Told by A Dog due out nationwide late July.

So, while we continue to work on our own simple PetPix photo contest, we just might find time to enter the Pet Lover Story contest as well. :-)

Only 28 essays have been submitted so far to this pet essay and pet pix contest. Could be this is due to the $200 entrance fee, so it is good that Giovannetti has set a minimum number of entries at 6,250 . The contest rules allow her to extend her July 23 entry deadline or to cancel the contest if she doesn’t get enough entries. In the meantime, (whether you enter the 1.25 million dollar pet essay contest or not), another great way to immortalize your pets is to give them a star and a corner of fame in the MillionDollarPetPix.com 10-year time capsule that showcases pets. There you can make your pet a star, by including three photos and a story of your special pet. Check out the unique PetPix Time Capsule here for your five-star, one-in-a-million pet!

Stay tuned for our PetPix photo contest… details later this month. ;-)
