Fleas Freaking You Out?
Getting rid of those nasty, nasty fleas that attack your cat or dog.
Eaten alive! That’s how it feels if you’ve ever been bitten by fleas and had a reaction. This gives one some clue as to the agony your poor pet goes through when fleas attack. The well-known curse about a thousand fleas of a camel infecting your armpits is no joke. Now that we’re getting out more with the good weather there are many more chances for you and your pet to come into contact with those nasty, nasty fleas.
Having had a drastic personal experience with fleabites when visiting with friends I can tell you that fleas are a huge deal. Want to scare me off forever… just mention you have fleas in your house and I’ll be history. I’m always amazed when people think their cat or dog might have fleas and simply shrug this off a minor inconvenience or irritation.
Fleas lay eggs and multiply like crazy. They bed into furniture and clothing and nothing short of major disinfecting makes a difference as new fleas will hatch ad nauseum. If you have fleas and don’t get a reaction to their bites then you’re lucky. Take it from me that it is serious.
I actually ended up in hospital with the reaction I had to the flea bites. I will not go into the gory details here (and they were) but suffice it to say that I ended up with scars on my legs for some time and on my psyche forever… with an ongoing major phobia to fleas.
While I do not obsess about it, it is one of the things that concerns me about travelling too as more hotels allow pets to stay in people’s rooms. Fleas don’t leave with their pet host upon check-out. They hang around to attack new visitors…

This is apparently soothing and also acts as a repellent to fleas. Your pet’s diet can also help to make them resistant to flea bites.
