Don’t Forget Fido When Planning For Hurricane Survival
If you’ve been busy battling recent winds, hunkering down in fear of menacing electrical storms and preparing for possible evacuation then you’re not alone.
The 2008 Hurricane Season started on June 1st and will continue until November 30th. Forecasters predict that 13-16 named storms will develop this season with as many as 9 of those storms reaching hurricane strength. The likelihood of a major hurricane making landfall along the U.S. coastline is 69 percent!
Our pets depend upon us for their security and survival, so as you make your own plans to protect yourself from power outages, raging high-speed winds and possible evacuation, please don’t forget to prepare for your pets as well. Having portable cages or crates for easy pet removal as well as pet dishes, food and water and pet first aid supplies are all required if you need to evacuate due to a hurricane.
