Pet is a Hero to Other Disabled Dogs!
Assistance for Aging Dogs Suffering from Canine Arthritis, Spinal Myelopathy and Hip Dysplasia
Finding a silver lining is not always easy, especially when it comes to illness. When pet owners find their aging pets becoming disabled with arthritis and other crippling illness, it is a distressing time. Long-time furry friends need extra care, attention, meds and physical assistance.
Such is the story of Watson, a Sheepador, (part Sheepdog, part Lab) whose growing disabilities prompted his dear friend (loyal human companion, Arnie Costell) to invent a special assistance harness. Together these two long-time buddies worked non-stop on a solution, (one creating, one testing), to enhance Watson’s mobility and comfort. The result? A therapeutic rear end support harness called the Bottoms-Up Leash and a speciality pet supply website aptly named Watson’s Senior Pets Supplies were born.
Despite the great challenges of the canine arthritis, spinal myelopathy and hip dysplasia that Watson and the heartbreak his owner suffered, the silver lining in all of this was the creation of a practical pet product that has helped many other disabled dogs.
The Bottom’s Up Leash is Watson’s legacy and their website, (a fitting tribute to Watson), is Arnie’s ongoing passion. Their invention has already helped tens of thousands of dogs and their owners to be more comfortably mobile and much happier. Inventing new senior pet assistance products keeps Arnie busy and involved with the pet community worldwide.
The Bottom’s Up Leash has won awards from Dog Fancy and the Global Pet Expo and has been featured on CBS, Good Morning America and radio. For more info visit Watson’s Senior Pet Supplies.
Fittingly, Watson was just this week inducted into the Pet Hero section of the MillionDollarPetPix.com
pet e-zine, in time to celebrate Pet Hero Month. He was also given a star corner of fame in the PetPix Time Capsule since he truly was a million-dollar pet and hero. Read Watson’s pet hero story here.
