Boomer Wins Silver in Show Jumping!
Beloved Equestrian Athlete Finally Gets Olympic Medal…
After winning almost every kind of show-jumping medal going, usually astride his beloved horse Big Ben, Ian Millar of Perth Ontario in Canada, has fans (and angels) cheering as he has finally landed an Olympic medal. Dubbed as “one of the greatest equestrian athletes of all time”, Ian Millar has done Canada proud.
Riding In Style (and, it can be said, in style) Millar came through in the clutch with a perfect run to lead the Canadian team into a jump-off for gold with the United States.
Millar who has been riding in the Canadian team for 39 years also holds an amazing record for competing in the Olympics. This Boomer, now at 61 years old, has finally laid hold of the illusive prize, upon the back of a beautiful mount named In Style, to bring home an Olympic medal for Canada.
But he won’t be resting on his laurels… news has it that he has already registered for the 2012 Olympics! If there were a medal for persistence and perserverance, he would no doubt win the gold! Read more in this Canadian news story and this Yahoo news story.
