Pet Portraits as Gifts
Throughout history, we have captured images of our most special people and pets, either through pen and ink, pastel, watercolor, oils or some combination thereof and also through photography.
Today, with digital cameras and computers it is possible to take a score of photos of your pet and display them not only on your camera but also in a slide show within an interactive picture frame!
It is also possible to commission a painting of your pet pal from a photograph from an artist who may live on the other side of the world from you. Painting from a photograph has become commonplace, as most people do not have the luxury of time to bring their pet to a studio for a “sitting” and painting session.
Professional pet photography on it’s own is growing in popularity as people strive to capture the essence of their special pets for posterity. While it is possible to take your own photos, (check here for tips on how to do this from professional pet photographer, Lisa Scott of At Play Photography), it takes a lot of patience and know-how and so if you are short on both, then it is well worthwhile to arrange a visit to your local pet photographer.
For those wanting the traditional painting of their pet, there are many options. Before looking for an artist who does pet portraiture, be sure to read this article “Custom Pet Photos” found in “Other Bytes” over at MillionDollarPetPix.com, home to the fun, interactive time capsule for pet photos, where you can “Make your pet a Star!™ for as little as $20.00 (USD)!
