Why does my dog eat snow and does it matter?

At first glance, the question could just as easily be
“Why do my kids eat snow?”, for it would appear to be a question of natural curiosity or great thirst. For anyone who done vigorous outdoor sports in winter such as cross-country skiing, tobogganing or snowshoeing that answer would be thirst… and maybe just the fun of eating a handful of snow. For our dogs, this can also be part of the equation, depending what is going on.

There are other reasons why dogs eat snow and to find some of these reasons we recommend that you read the article “Dog Eating Snow?” in the Dog Bytes article section over at MillionDollarPetPix.com, home of the PetPix Time Capsule™ where you can “Make Your Pet a Star!”™
