Anyone who has ever owned a cat or even just visited a home with cats or kittens can identify with a lot of the sayings about cats.

No doubt you can maybe even make up some new cat sayings… which makes me think that maybe that would be  good contest for the new year.

An original that comes to mind is from a 10-year old boy who hates cleaning up after his cat spits up a hairball. He says to anyone who will listen…

“Good thing horses don’t get hairballs!”

Amen to that!

 

One of our favorite cat sayings is by Jean Cocteau…

“I love my cats because I love my home and after a while they (the cats) become its visible soul.”

Another favorite is by Evan Esar…

“The Cat: an animal that’s so unpredictable, you can never tell in advance how it will ignore you the next time.”

And, Robert Southey says…

‘A kitten in the animal world is what a rosebud is to a garden.”
