A look at some natural Australian marvels… thanks to photos sent by email.

On the greater side…

This six-year old shire horse known as “Noddy” was born in Pakenham Australia and is over 20 hands high and 1.3 tonnes in weight.

“The massive horse, whose full name is Luscombe Nordram, was born in Australia to a mare and sire imported from England. Noddy’s grandfather, Ladbrooke Edward (UK) was the world’s tallest horse during the 1980’s.”

Noddy is still growing…

It is believed that Noddy’s size made him the tallest horse in Australia it could also be a world record  though there seems to be some speculation that this title may soon go to a horse in Mexico.

On the smaller side…

This Australian “toy” foal, born in Victoria in November 2008, was only 15 inches tall when born… about the size of a week-old lamb. The filly is expected to grow to a height of not more than 24 inches, which is usually the normal size for a new-born miniature horse.
