No matter the intense financial recession, it seems that we are still willing to spend our hard-earned dollars on our pets. From a psychological viewpoint, this actually makes sense. The recession depresses us. Our pets make us feel better… and it is known that when people are depressed they will spend more on entertainment and other things to make themselves fell better.
The APPA (American Pet Products Association) estimates that despite the recession, Americans will spend approximately $45.4 billion on their pets in 2009.
This is a $2.2 billion INCREASE from 2008!
