As with everything else in the world, going to the vet with your pet may not be all that it could in terms of getting complete information. You may not get all the information you may require to make the best decision for your pet’s health. This is usually a result of what the age-old maxim tells us… “You don’t know what you don’t know.”

What this means is that before your vet can give you enough information, they need information from you… they need to know about your pet’s usual health, any changes in the pet’s health, the pet medications, vaccinations and any treatments or surgeries that have been done. This helps the vet. To help yourself, you need to know the right questions to ask… to gain a full understanding of any diagnosis and proposed treatments for your pet.

Dr. Shawn Messonnier DVM, author of the award-winning The Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats and host of the award-winning show, Dr. Shawn-The Natural Vet, on Martha Stewart Radio suggests there are some things your vet won’t tell you… to prepare for your next vet visit and to learn about what questions you should ask your vet check here for the full article from Dr. Shawn.
