What do bees do in winter? (Doobee, doobee, doo?)

An interesting question that, but not probably one that crosses a person’s mind often or at all…

In leafing through the Net for some new fodder for this pet-lovers’ blog, we came upon a delightful blog post, on the
Carp Ridge Eco-Wellness Centre site, that quickly caught our interest.

Yes, we know what you are thinking… bees are not pets!
As a rule we’d generally agree though we’re sure bee-keepers and the pet lover community in general may feel differently. While keepers may not give their bees names, (though we are positive that some do, especially the queen bee), bee-keepers get very attached to their busy buzzers… and with good reason!

The bees, featured in this blog posting, actually reside near the Wellness Centre and provide the cooking staff with their honey… well, except for when their hives are raided by the country critters residing nearby!

In any case… this article is fun and informative with interesting pix is all about these furry helpful friends, and therefore worthy of a look-in. So why not take a moment for yourself to find out about “What Bees Do in Winter” up there in the air-conditioned country called Canada.
