Canada gets the kudos this year with Charlie from Ottawa Canada taking the “Pet of the Year” honor for 2009.

This good-natured canine loves people and brings smiles to many at a local seniors’ residence. He also seems to like getting his picture taken when visiting his pals in the local sand pit and dog park.

Pets catch at our hearts and Ben from Seattle is no exception. Ben is the Pet-of-the-Month over at MillionDollarPetPix home of the PetPix Time Capsule.

As a rule we’d generally agree though we’re sure bee-keepers and the pet lover community in general may feel differently.

Pets do matter to people, even when human lives are endangered!

Having a pet website may seem like a frivolous thing to many. In relation to all the famine and disaster in the world and the worry about basic human survival… well yes, a pet blog is hugely insignificant. But it is incredibly interesting to know that even amidst major disasters, that money, effort and emotions are also spent to rescue animals… even by the very people whose lives are in peril from whatever natural disaster is plaguing them.

Duke is still a young pup, but is very well-behaved and engaging. This is his special “worn out” pose which is often seen after one of his extra-long play times!
