Cedar - A Green Dog and Author

In San Francisco since1996, biodegradable poop bags are placed in dog parks for people to deposit dog waste in special bins. The poop is hauled to a methane digester to be combined with plant material, which works like a composter. Microorganisms gorge on the waste, producing methane gas, biogas. That is used to make electricity or burned in place of natural gas.

We came across a true story in May of a pony that was rescued from the ravages of hurricane Katrina and how Pam Kaster, a Red Cross manager at the time came to write a book about the amazing people who helped Molly the pony. It is a story of pets, people and heroes, of survival, caring, and ingenuity.

Meet Molly. She’s a gray speckled pony who was abandoned by her owners when Katrina hit southern Louisiana, USA . She spent weeks on her own before finally being rescued and taken to a farm where abandoned animals were stockpiled.
