Today, many airlines are adopting pet-friendly policies by allowing small pets to travel in the passenger cabin of a plane in a pet carrier. The relief for pet owners is tremendous… whereas for non-pet people, pets traveling in the cabin can seem to be an imposition, especially for allergy-sufferers. It would seem that the airlines can’t win. Ramping up service to accommodate pet people is not all rosy.

After a twelve year span of fame and some controversy, the legendary Taco Bell chihuahua “Gidget” passed away from a massive stroke.

The fifteen year old, iconic dog brought cheer to literally thousands in the pet lover community who celebrate pets. Toys depicting this funny little dog are also popular with younger pet lovers.

If you or your children have difficulty with respiratory ailments of any kind, then keeping a dog or cat may seem problematic. Despite the info about the pet’s saliva and dander being the major causes of allergies, there are a number of dogs being touted as hypoallergenic.

President Obama has chosen one of these for that reason, and we are wondering how that is working from an allergenic standpoint…
