Pet Star Gets Own Stamp!

Boomers will enjoy this…

A much-loved canine will now be getting his own stamp as the US Postal service commemorates celebrities from the 50’s. The stamp edition is called “Early TV Memories” and the stamps are now being sold. These stamps feature classic TV characters from the 1950’s and one of those being celebrated is the beautiful, intelligent Collie and Hollywood star named Lassie. This quick-witted canine hero entertained Boomers with all sorts of wonderful adventures.

Oprah Features Dog that is Elephant’s Best Friend!

Having just read “Hannah’s Dream” about an elephant that is rescued from a failing zoo, it was very timely and a great coincidence to see an “Amazing Animal” segment on Oprah today that was all about Tarra, a 35 year old Asian elephant and her faithful sidekick, Bella the dog who reside in an 1800 acre habitat in Hohenwald, Tennessee where sick and elderly female elephants are brought to retire.
