California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has just signed a bill into law that provides for enforcement of “pet trusts” that are set up by animal owners. These trusts (recently made famous by the late Leona Helmsley) are put into place to protect and provide ongoing care for the pets when their owner dies.

Anatole France (1844-1924) Novel Prize-winning French author and critic said,
“Until one has loved an animal a part of one’s soul remains unawakened”.

Every pet lover would no doubt agree. Pet’s bring out the best in us and keep our hearts from hardening. The presence of a pet is in itself a present… their trust and openness and easy companionship.
